Dr. Smithe: Do keep him tucked in, he's too big for the machine otherwise!
Dr. Madison: Okay, got him? You ready?
Dr. Smithe: Yep.
Young: Yes, sir.
Shelley: Yes, sir.
Dr. Madison: 1, 2, 3!
Dr. Smithe: Oh shit-
Shelley: Doctor?
Young: Are you alright?
Dr. Smithe: Yes yes, I'm fine.
Dr. Madison: You said you had him.
Dr. Smithe: Well I did, and then I didn't, is the thing. Really, I'm alright! Lloyd? Where are you going?

And we're back! Speaking of backs, our pathologist seems to have bungled his
Also, I'm planning a little something for the near future, how do y'all feel about cameos?

I love the pathologist's response, haha
And cameos can be neat

Gotta have a sense of humour in that line of work tbh
Also, I'll be linking the details when I've got em worked out, but I'll be doing a casting call, so to speak, in the near future!

Oh he's BIG... I'm so curious about when what going to see under the sheet.
April 3, 2020
He won't be without the sheet for a while yet, but I can say there's more under there than meets the eye ;>

the overall shape of the deceased kind of reminds me of a golem or Frankenstein's monster.

Your comparisons may not be too far off! ;>

F'ing that was my idea on the previous page. A golem.

The pixelated lettering reads a bit weird to me..
February 6, 2021
Oh no! Is it difficult to read? I could add a transcription on the pages if that's the case :o
February 6, 2021
No no, not difficult to read. I liked it in the opening, thinking there was some reason for it; it's uncommon. Reading on, I don't think it fits the art style, at all. It's just not very pretty, is it?
February 6, 2021
To each their own! And honestly I've been thinking about adding a transcript for a bit now, with the more dialogue heavy pages coming up I think I'll set about doing just that in the next week or two

Not difficult to read, but: Weird. Strange?
"Taking a step back", it might mean that their vices were recorded and are now played from a, well, digital recording. Like MP3 with a relatively high compression level.
August 6, 2021
I like how you described it like a digital recording, thats a really cool way to look at it :O
August 6, 2021
Thanks! So, was it meant to be a recording of events?
August 7, 2021
That wasn't my intent, but that doesn't mean I don't love the idea of it! And I suppose every kind of story would count as a recording of events to some degree :o
I actually wound up using the pixelated font because of how I designed the hospital equipment in TREVOR; I didn't like any of the sketches I'd done trying to make entirely original fantasy machines (I didn't want this to look like it took place in space!) but I knew I wanted this to look either modern-day or future, so I tried designing high-tech looking things out of old, broken tech (kind of like a split timeline where that look carried on, or a repurposing of old parts). A lot of my inspiration was drawn from boxes of old computer parts from the 80s/90s that I'd either had in the garage or seen in thrift stores, and a couple image searches. I wanted to put more weird devices around in sets so they didnt look as out of place, but the bleak, bare walls of this hospital were meant to be uninviting and sterile looking, so it was hard to find a happy balance.
And that's what brings me to the font choice: I picked it to try and bridge that gap between sterile white walls and beige franken-computers, it made me think of input command screens on some of the first PCs! I'm thinking now, in retrospect, there might have been a better way to do all of this... but I can't think of one off the top of my head now, let alone back when I was in the drafting phase of the comic hahah
But that's why I went that route anyhow, thanks for asking!

OK, thank you for the explanation.
Thinking about it, there is at least one comic on CF where the creators hadn't thought of a clear explanation for one in-comic fact, at one time a reader provided a good and logical explanation in a comment and they declared that explanation as canon :) And Dave Barrack once said that he will use the combined intelligence of the readership to make improvements and/or fill in details. One of the advantages of a webcomic! :-)

Lmao honestly yeah! I've really enjoyed how this particular realm of storytelling can manipulate how the stories are told in major and minor ways :D
